Silicon Data Raises $30.5M Series A — Bringing Transparency to the Compute EconomyRead the announcement

Marketing and Public Relations Lead

Full-time

We’re looking for a senior, entrepreneurial Marketing and Public Relations Lead to own how the market understands Silicon Data, across press, positioning, and the marketing engine that turns our data into demand.

Who We Are

Silicon Data builds the data infrastructure for the global compute economy.

As demand for AI infrastructure accelerates, compute is becoming a tradable asset class. Silicon Data provides price transparency, benchmarking, and standardized market indices that let participants discover price, manage risk, and make data-driven decisions across the compute supply chain.

Our indices and data power decisions for hedge funds and financial institutions trading compute exposure, AI companies managing infrastructure cost, and data centers optimizing asset utilization. We are backed by leading global trading firms including DRW and Jump Trading, Valor Atreides AI Fund (VAAI), and we recently partnered with CME Group to launch the first-ever compute futures market built on Silicon Data’s indices.

The Role

This is our first hire dedicated to marketing and communications. You will join a research organization publishing genuinely newsworthy data every day, and be the machine that communicates this research to the outside world.

You’ll be communicating with two audiences at once: the trading desks, exchanges, and asset managers who need to trust a benchmark before they will clear against it, and the AI companies, data centers, and hardware manufacturers who live on the physical side of the same market. Both are sophisticated, both read closely, and neither responds to noise.

You’ll work directly with the CEO and leadership team to set and execute the strategy, from the narrative and the press bench through to the channels, the content engine, and the team that eventually runs it.

What You’ll Do

  • Bring our story to the outside world. Work closely with our research team to drive positioning, messaging, and market perception across the website, product marketing, research distribution, executive communications, and analyst conversations.

  • Run press and analyst relations. Manage engagements with business, financial, and technology reporters, brief them ahead of index revisions and launches, prepare and protect our spokespeople, and coordinate announcements with exchange, investor, and partner communications teams.

  • Systematize the marketing engine. Build the campaign calendar, content pipeline, channel mix, and operating cadence that let marketing scale past what any one person can carry.

  • Market a multi-product suite to distinct buyers. Index products, GPU performance benchmarks, forward curves, alternative data, and web modules, and give the commercial team material that shortens institutional sales cycles.

  • Support and nurture compute futures trading alongside the CME Group partnership, including the education and ongoing content a new derivatives market needs to build understanding and liquidity.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years in marketing, communications, or public relations, with meaningful time spent marketing financial products, derivatives, market data, or indices.

  • Media relationships across business, financial, and/or technology outlets.

  • A track record of building the marketing function at an early or growth-stage company, or building a similar group within a larger organization

  • The ability to turn a complex technical subject into a story a reporter will run and a CFO will act on, without hollowing out the substance. We will ask for writing that demonstrates this.

  • Experience-led judgment about which channels serve which audience at which stage

  • An entrepreneurial operator’s instinct. You develop ideas and execute them across research, product, sales, and partners without waiting for a process to exist.

  • Outstanding writing and executive presence.

  • Comfort in a small, fast-moving, early-stage environment with high autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at an exchange, index provider, market-data vendor, rating agency, or alternative data provider.

  • Knowledge of GPUs, AI infrastructure, and the compute ecosystem (clouds, neoclouds, data centers, hardware).

  • Experience marketing an index or benchmark business, and familiarity with the line between promoting a benchmark and preserving its independence.

  • You’ve launched a category, not just a product.

  • Comfort with pricing and methodology detail, and the ability to build a chart from raw data yourself.

Why Join Silicon Data

  • Define a new asset class. Compute is becoming the most important commodity of the decade, and you’ll write the story the market uses to understand it.

  • Real ownership from day one. This is the first dedicated marketing hire — you own the narrative, the press, and the engine, reporting directly to the CEO.

  • Proof the market is real. CME Group, Bloomberg distribution, and backing from DRW and Jump Trading — you’re not marketing a thesis, you’re scaling one that’s already landed.

  • A story that writes itself. A research team producing newsworthy data every business day, so your problem is choosing among stories rather than manufacturing them.

  • Senior, technical team. Small team, fast feedback loops, high autonomy, and a culture that values technical rigor, transparency, and a builder mindset.

  • Competitive compensation including meaningful equity, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Silicon Data is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to building a team as diverse as the markets we serve.
