Product Manager - SiliconMark

Full-time

About Silicon Data

Silicon Data builds the data infrastructure for the global compute economy.

As demand for AI infrastructure accelerates, compute is becoming a tradable asset class. Silicon Data provides price transparency, benchmarking, and standardized market indices that let participants discover price, manage risk, and make data-driven decisions across the compute supply chain.

Our indices and data power decisions for hedge funds and financial institutions trading compute exposure, AI companies managing infrastructure cost, and data centers optimizing asset utilization. We are backed by leading global trading firms including DRW and Jump Trading, Valor Atreides AI Fund (VAAI), and we recently partnered with CME Group to launch the first-ever compute futures market built on Silicon Data's indices.

About SiliconMark

SiliconMark is the measurement layer for transacting compute. While renting a GPU from a cloud provider can carry one standard spec sheet, our research has found that the actual performance delivered can vary as much as 34% for the same GPU, presenting issues for compute buyers and sellers alike. SiliconMark runs a comprehensive, third-party performance benchmark for GPU resources that allows compute market participants to settle on the real delivered value of compute.

The Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to own SiliconMark end to end: the benchmark suite, the agent, the scoring methodology, and the certification layer that customers increasingly treat as evidence in commercial negotiations.
This role sits at an unusual intersection: it is a genuine data product, a distributed systems product, and a trust product all at once. You will make calls about which benchmarks belong in the suite, how cohorts are defined, what constitutes a statistically defensible rating, and how far a certificate can be trusted once a device changes hands.

This is an early-stage, high-ownership role. You will work closely with our Founder/CEO, Engineering, and our GPU benchmarking engineers, a team of domain experts drawn from trading, compute, and data infrastructure. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, energized by building in a new market, and opinionated about what great enterprise data products look like.

What You'll Own

  • Define and execute the SiliconMark roadmap, benchmark coverage, agent capabilities, cohort scoring, certification, and the self-service surface customers use to run and interpret jobs.
Own the benchmark portfolio: decide which hardware and application benchmarks earn a place in the suite, and how each is scoped, versioned, and deprecated.
  • Partner with our GPU benchmarking engineers on methodology — cohort definition, statistical thresholds, run repeatability, and how the configuration fingerprint is captured and validated.
  • Conduct discovery with the audiences SiliconMark serves — infrastructure and AI/ML teams validating clusters before turn-up, procurement teams comparing suppliers and pursuing RMA claims, and resellers stratifying inventory, to understand their workflows, evidence requirements, and pain points.
  • Translate customer requirements and market signals into well-scoped specs, user stories, and a prioritized backlog with Engineering.
  • Drive go-to-market planning for SiliconMark launches — positioning, enablement materials, and rollout sequencing with our distribution partners (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and direct enterprise channels).
  • Define and own key product metrics: devices benchmarked, cohort population by SKU, run success and repeatability rates, time-to-first-result, and conversion from trial run to paid certification.
  • Connect SiliconMark to the wider portfolio — in particular the pricing products — so that measured performance can be expressed in economic terms, such as cost of capability per measured token per second.
  • Communicate product direction clearly to internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, to the market — through documentation, methodology write-ups, demos, and public-facing materials.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5–7 years of product management experience related to GPU hardware
Demonstrated ability to own products end-to-end — from problem definition and discovery through delivery and iteration.
  • Comfort working with complex or structured data products
  • Strong analytical instincts
  • Technical fluency with infrastructure. You can hold a credible conversation about GPU cluster architecture, performance metrics (sustained versus peak FLOPs, cross-node bandwidth, throughput, latency), drivers and firmware, and cloud deployment models.
  • Excellent written communication; you write clear PRDs, crisp specs, and concise stakeholder updates — and can explain a methodology decision to a skeptical customer in writing.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers, including navigating procurement, integration requirements, and long-term account relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you thrive in environments where the roadmap is still being written and execution speed matters.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on exposure to compute benchmarking, stress testing, or performance analysis — whether as a PM, an engineer, or a heavy user of the output.
  • Familiarity with GPU telemetry via driver APIs, or with benchmarking tooling and methodologies for GPU clusters and tensor workloads.
  • Understanding of GPU hardware economics, cloud compute pricing, or AI infrastructure procurement.
  • Experience with products where an agent or SDK runs inside the customer's environment — and the deployment, versioning, and trust problems that come with it.
  • Background in certification, attestation, provenance, or audit-grade data products.
  • Background in or strong familiarity with financial data products
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup where you helped build the PM function from the ground up.

What You Can Expect From Us

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity
  • Ownership of a product that is defining how the compute market verifies what GPUs actually deliver — in a market where nobody has yet agreed on the standard.
  • A small, senior team where your work has direct, visible impact and your opinions carry real weight.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Flexible, remote-friendly work environment with a culture that values output over presence.
  • A founder-led culture built on merit — your growth here is limited only by the quality of your work.
